Observation Narrative
Upper slope on west side of ridge within 200 m of ridge crest. Plot located in Quercus montana / Quercus ilicifolia woodland. Q. montana individuals here are scattered and unthrifty, presumably due to dry nutrient poor rocky soils and/or past fires; stems average 20-30 cm dbh.
At the time of sampling, leaves had fallen from many woody species; cover estimated as if summer foliage were present.
